Portmeirion, Wales
This year Belle and Sebastian and Grace Jones are headlining. Other artists on the bill include James Bay, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Everything Everything and Kate Tempest. There will also be a talk with Trainspotting author, Irvine Welsh, and art installations including Greg Wilson and Kermit who present Super Weird Happening – a visual and interactive psychedelic DJ set.
The price: Adult weekend £150; ages 11-15 £80-£90; children aged 10 and under (Friday arrival) free. Booking fees apply.
Rhythms of the World 20-21 June
Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Led by volunteers, Rhythms of the World is a registered charity that aims to unite diverse communities through music and the arts, including world music, dance, arts, and cuisin, ROTW does not offer the most recognisable names of the music industry but instead picks an interesting and eclectic lineup which this year includes Specials member Neville Staple, and India's number one live performer, Raghu Dixit.
The price: Adults £15; ages 5-17 £6; under-5s free.
Farmfest 31 July-1 August
Gilcombe Farm, Somerset
Ten years old and still just £59 a ticket, Farmfest is far from fellow Somerset festival Glastonbury's proportions but the line-up has a few gems such as Portico (formerly Portico Quartet) and The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, who are making their UK debut at the festival.
The price: £59 for the weekend.
