From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Quite why people are describing Glastonbury as tent city is apparent from these stunning aerial photographs of Worthy Farm.
The drizzle may be coming down on the heads of the 135,000 revellers but they are well prepared and their colourful encampments look delightful from above.
From the mishmash of the family camping fields to the neat regimented rows of luxury tents for hire and accommodation set up for Glastonbury workers the eye-catching sight is stunning.
The award-winning dairy farm has been transformed, as it is every year, into a riot of colour and the wonderfully higgledy piggledy shapes of the British countryside are ever more pronounced now it is tarpaulin and festival goers rather than cows that are dwelling there.
The sprawling site, which is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world, has a perimeter of around eight and a half miles.
Let’s hope revellers don’t get too lost in the dark because we’re not sure these aerial images will help them find their £15 pop up from Argos.
