Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Fresh from releasing their 4-track EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? earlier this month, Nothing But Thieves dropped in to the Music Box studio for a special stripped-down session.
As noted in my Now Hear This column, frontman Conor Mason has one of the best voices in modern rock – something he seemed to prove quite effortlessly for this particular session.
He and guitarist/keys player Dom performed three tracks: "Forever & Ever More", their single off the new EP, "Particles", from their most recent album Broken Machine, and "If I Get High", which was taken from their debut, self-titled album released in 2015.
While all of the tracks sound superb as acoustic versions, the rendition of "If I Get High" was a particular emotional one (one member of the video team, who shall not be named, shed a few tears during filming).
Watch the session in full (above) and check out the band's latest EP, which is out now.
The band have four massive UK dates coming up in November, at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff (19 Nov), the O2 Apollo in Manchester (20 Nov), Alexandra Palace in London (23 Nov), and O2 Academy Birmingham (24 Nov).
Music Box season 4 continues every Monday at 12pm until 26 November. Watch all of the latest sessions here
