Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A.O.S.O.O.N (A Lot Of Something Out Of Nothing) are a south London duo who describe themselves as 'gangsta folk' - acoustic folk with heavy urban influences that include Lauryn Hill and Mary J. Blige.
The band have been self-releasing music via their own label Orange - 'Something' is their first track with new singer Ella, drawing on her love of African and South American music.
Watch our premiere for the track below:
The band say of the track: "'Something’ is a story about nature, its importance and how much it has to teach us.
"It’s a reminder that we are all something, we are all unique and an important part of this beautiful, living, breathing plant we live on. The production is very organic; we jammed a few times then hit record and ended up here. It’s especially important to us because it’s our first release on our new label Orange; no rage, no anger, no age.'"
