Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We've reached the final Music Box episode of the year!

It's been amazing to work with so many incredible artists, from launching the sessions with The Amazons back in March to hauling bands like Bastille and Enter Shikari into our tiny studio, plus introducing some of our new favourites: Bassette, Hak Baker, Tom Grennan, Joe Fox, INHEAVEN and Tamino.

Our final session of 2017 is with LP - born Laura Pergolizzi - an artist we interviewed in February and who has enjoyed huge success not only with her massive hit "Lost On You", but also with her fourth album of the same name and live shows around the world. Not to mention her work writing for artists including Rihanna, Cher and Christina Aguilera.

For her Music Box session she performed three original songs: "Up Against Me", "Lost On You" and "When We're High". It's testament to her talent that she managed to hit those notes and make it look easy, that high note near the end of "When We're High" is astonishing. And we wish we could whistle as well as her.

Check out the session (above) - we hope you enjoy it.

Special thanks to: LP, John Notto, Eli Logothetis, Mike Sassano, Evie Ranscombe, BMG Records, Sennheiser, The Independent video team - and everyone who has watched and supported Music Box this year.
