Elisa Bray: Caught in the Net

Anyone who was standing at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury as the sun set on Sunday evening would agree that Leonard Cohen stole the show.

After a 15-year touring break, he returned to the stage to play classics such as "Bird on a Wire", "Suzanne" and "Hallelujah". But despite his astounding set, those watching the festival coverage on television would have noticed that the 73-year-old poet musician did not feature in the highlights. Leonard Cohen had chosen not to be recorded for TV or radio and, on blog sites across the web, fans who weren't at the festival lamented not being able to watch his performance.

One fan at Glastonbury took a surprisingly good video of "Hallelujah" and posted it on YouTube. When he added the word "Glastonbury" to the lyrics ("I've told the truth, I didn't come to Glastonbury to fool you"), the crowd erupted. Watch as the crowd sway their arms in a Sweet Caroline-esque sing-along. Probably not the most appropriate reaction if you were to listen to its lyrics, but a one-of-a-kind festival moment nonetheless.
