Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Recovery, the artist's seventh major label studio album, will feature collaborators including DJ Khalil, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin and Boi-1da, among others.
The announcement followed on the heels of an April 14 message Eminem sent from his Twitter account declaring, "There is no Relapse 2," referring to a followup to the 2009 album Relapse that Eminem was originally expected to release by the end of 2009. Soon after, the artist tweeted again, this time with the new album's name and a link to his website.
"I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year," said Eminem. "But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title."
Eminem has sold more than 78 million albums worldwide. The long-awaited Relapse was his first album to be released since 2004's Encore, which has sold more than 11 million copies.
