From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

On March 1, organizers for the UK's annual summer concert V Festival announced headliners Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna, and Plan B.

Eminem and Rihanna will headline the Weston Park stage in Staffordshire on August 20 while Arctic Monkeys and Plan B will play at the sister concert at the nearby Hylands Park in Essex. On August 21, the two sets will switch stages, a hallmark of the festival.

Slim Shady, who will also headline Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June, just pocketed the Rap Album of the Year Grammy Award for the second year in a row for his seventh studio album, Recovery. Rihanna herself is a three-time Grammy Award winner, and she has sold more than 15 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide.

Other notable acts performing at V Festival, now in its 15th year, include Wiz Khalifa, Bruno Mars, Duran Duran, Tinie Tempah, Mark Ronson, and Dizzee Rascal. Promoted by the Virgin Group (hence the V), famous for Virgin Mobile, and the Virgin Megastore retail chain, the V Fest has in the past boasted a range of acts including Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Oasis, Taylor Swift, and The Killers.

Arctic Monkeys, now working on their fourth album, will also headline Scotland's T in the Park Festival, July 8-10, alongside Foo Fighters and Coldplay. U2 and Beyonce are headlining The Glastonbury Festival, June 23-28 in Pilton, England.

Tickets for the V Festival go on sale Friday, March 4, at 9 a.m. GMT. Tickets range from at £83.50 (about €99) and go up to £175 (about €206).
