Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The album's first single, "Not Myself Tonight," will premiere on christinaaguilera.com March 30 at 6:00pm EST.
Bionic features songs co-written by Aguilera and collaborations with Sia, Tricky Stewart, Le Tigre, and Ladytron among others. The album also features a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled "Lift Me Up." "Not Myself Tonight," which a press release calls a "fiercely energetic anthem," will be available on iTunes April 13.
Aguilera says of the album, "I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don't think anyone will expect."
Aguilera has also recently completed production on her first film, Burlesque, co-starring Cher, Stanley Tucci, and Kristen Bell, and due out in fall 2010.
Bionic will be Aguilera's first studio album since 2006's Back to Basics, which went platinum in more than a dozen countries, earned a Grammy Award for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance, and was named iTunes' Best Pop Album of the Year.
