From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

On Thursday, December 2, US pop star Britney Spears wrote via Twitter than her next, yet-to-be-named album will drop in March.

"I'm almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March," she wrote. "I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!" Spears, who celebrated her 29th birthday December 2, enlisted the aid of producers Dr. Luck and Max Martin - who have also worked with US singers Katy Perry and Pink - on the new album, which will be her seventh studio release.

So far no other details about the album have been revealed. In November, Dr. Luke teased via Twitter that Spears fans might hear her new music soon. "Time to get this song out the door and out to mix," he tweeted. "I think you know what artist i'm talking Bout... Right???"

One of the best-selling music artists in the world, Spears is reported to have sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Her last album, Circus, released in 2008, reached number one in album charts in the US, the UK, Canada, and Russia. The album's first single, "Womanizer," was an international hit, reaching the top of the charts in more than 20 countries.
