ECsoft, the pan-European IT consultancy, has appointed Simon Bates as UK sales director. Previously, Bates was director of business development for ECsoft's Practice Group activities.

Corporate Sofware & Technology, the software reseller and service provider, has appointed Marc Chatel as president, Europe. He joins CS&T from Logitech, where he was senior vice-president, sales and marketing.

Azlan UK, has appointed Ed Williams as business manager for Cisco business and chairman of the company's European product management team. Previously, Williams was a sales manager for Azlan.

Computer Sciences Corporation has appointed John Cooper as managing director of CSC's Research Services. Prior to joining CSC, Cooper ran his own consultancy in Australia.

Andres B Bande has been elected chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Flag Limited, the undersea fibre-optic cable system. Bande joines Flag from Sprint Corporation, where he was president of Sprint International.

Retail Logic, the card payment specialist, has appointed Nick Dickson as EFT (electronic fund transfer) sales manager.

SDX Business Systems, the independendent supplier of telephone systems, has appointed Tony Dean as finance director. He joins SDX from Viglen Technology, where he was finance director.

SDX also announced that Bob Kennedy, a founding director of the company, will step down from his post as finance and operations director at the end of the month. Kennedy will remain a non-executive director.

Norman Data Defense Systems, the computer security specialist, has appointed Keith Moon as sales manager. He joins from Decision Systems International.
