Sir: Your leading article (29 November) on the Royal Bank of Scotland takeover bid for NatWest made some interesting points from the points of view of the consumers and shareholders. Where is your thought for the staff? Yes, there may well have to be changes, but it will not be much of a Christmas for those employed by NatWest, who will be wondering if they will be among the 18,000 whose jobs are forecast to disappear.
