Your support makes all the difference.Sir: It is always frustrating to see the supermarkets claim that they are "creating" jobs ("Tesco plans 10,000 jobs" 12 April). Jobs are not created - they are moved around and lost altogether. Every time a new store opens there is a net loss of jobs in the surrounding area within three years. Other smaller businesses selling food and other products such as pharmaceuticals, petrol and even newspapers cannot compete with a giant retail outlet nearby.
