Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

1. Luke Kempner

Fans of Downton Abbey will love Luke Kempner's one-man show The Only Way Is Downton, a brilliant parody of the TV series in which he voices all the characters.

2. Jack Dee

The acclaimed comic and TV star, Jack Dee, will be coming to the aid of his fellow Latitude festival goers. In Jack Dee's Helpdesk, the comic is joined by a brilliant panel, including Jeremy Hardy, Seann Walsh and Katherine Ryan, to offer advice and solutions to audience members' problems.

3. Josie Long

The fiercely political stand-up, who was nominated for the Edinburgh comedy award three years running in 2010, 2011 and 2012, comes to Latitude before beginning her Edinburgh show Cara Josephine, which is all about love.

4. Simon Amstell

Best known for his roles as the former co-host of Popworld, former host of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and co-writer and star of the sitcom Grandma's House, the BAFTA nominee who was dubbed a young Woody Allen by The New York Times brings his dark humour to Latitude for the first time.

5. Dara O'Briain

The Irish comedian who is best known as the host of Mock the Week, The Apprentice: You're Fired! and the star of Three Men in a Boat will mix new and old material in his stand-up show.
