Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After appearing in The Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia together, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci will team up again for a comedy, titled Mommy & Me.
Tucci, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Lovely Bones this year, will produce and direct. He has previously directed films including Big Night and Blind Date.
The project co-stars Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner Tina Fey ( Date Night, 30 Rock) as Streep's character's daughter, according to TheWrap.
Streep is slated to portray the UK's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady with Jim Broadbent in a Mike Nichols film called Great Hope Springs and may join the satire Dewey with Reese Witherspoon, Paul Giamatti and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Tucci will be seen in four upcoming films this year including Wall Street thriller Margin Call, with Jeremy Irons and Kevin Spacey, comedy Easy A, the animated Cat Tale and Burlesque with Cher and Christina Aguilera. Plus in 2011, he appears in Marvel's Captain America.
Up next for Fey is her voice in animated comedy Megamind with former Saturday Night Live colleague Will Ferrell.
