Lagerfeld Confidential (12A)

This fly-on-the-wall documentary trails Karl Lagerfeld as he sketches frocks, takes photographs and hobnobs with Nicole Kidman. The Chanel designer turns out to be a candid, unpretentious fellow who owns up to his own idiosyncrasies without batting an eyelid – not that we can see his eyelids behind his ever-present sunglasses. But, like a video of a touring rock band, Lagerfeld Confidential is less fond of context and analysis than it is of showing its subject getting out of cars and on to planes.
