Matthew McConaughey, the king of duff romantic comedies – see How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Fool's Gold for proof – stars in another dollop of Hollywood froth.
He plays celebrity snapper Connor Mead, a womaniser who doesn't believe in love and is prone to dumping girlfriends by conference call. The cad sets about wrecking his little brother's wedding with his sleazy antics until three ghosts – including a ripe Michael Douglas – point out, Christmas Carol-style, the error of his errant ways. This high-concept piffle benefits from a droll Robert Forster cameo as a Korean war vet, an endearing turn from Jennifer Garner and a few decent gags.
