And so it proves for Daniel Craig's aspiring novelist, Will, and his lovely wife, Libby (Rachel Weisz), who relocate from Manhattan to a supposedly cosy town in New England in Jim Sheridan's slightly preposterous haunted house thriller. Obviously, their new home was the scene of a family slaughter, and their neighbour (Naomi Watts) is twitchy and the townsfolk are similarly spooked. The twist – and it's a big twist – comes halfway through, and, frankly, it's bonkers from there on in.
