Why isn't everyone yelling from the rooftops about this excellent Channel 4 sitcom? It starts sedately – and The Mimic's pacing remains gentle throughout – but persist and you'll reap rich comic rewards.
Terry Mynott plays Martin, a middle-aged drone stuck in a maintenance job, who has an uncanny talent for mimicking voices – from Ronnie Corbett to Al Pacino. Stella Street and The Trip come to mind, but this is much sweeter and more poignant than either. Neil Maskell excels as a paranoid newsagent. Very funny.
