Mary's rudimentary slicing begins on a hoodlum and a woman who wants to resemble a doll. However, things take an uglier turn after a lecturer sexually assaults Mary and she applies her new skills to a bit of torture and some increasingly freakish procedures. There's some gamey B-movie-style acting and a weaker second half, but this is still an accomplished, inventive slasher.
