From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Rebel Wilson's most famous roles, Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect and incestuous sister Brynn in Bridesmaids, have made the Australian actress a rising star in American comedies. It's as if she was born to make you laugh.

Yet with her reprisal of Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect 2, it seems Wilson is readying herself for more serious avenues in Hollywood.

Fat Amy remains one of Wilson's "proudest creations," yet she admits the sassy, over-confident Amy of the first film develops "more depth" in the second movie.

As much as her great creation's love of musicals mirrors her own interests (she got her big break with Bogan Pride, an Australian musical comedy TV series), Wilson is keen to attempt more serious film projects, although she was disappointed not to be chosen for the new Ghostbusters movie.

You can find out what Rebel Wilson is planning next, including her wish to work with Channing Tatum, by watching the video below:
