Julie Andrews led the praise on Sunday night for Lady Gaga who stunned viewers with a soaring medley of songs from the Sound of Music movie.

"Thank you Lady Gaga for that wonderful tribute," Andrews, 79, who played the part of Maria the singing nun in the 1965 movie, based on a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.

People seemed to like the touch of nostalgia her performance delivered.

And they loved her voice too.
