X-Men and Game of Thrones gather round: director Bryan Singer has shared the first picture of Sophie Turner as Jean Grey in the new Apocalypse film.

In the photo the 19-year-old actress is dressed in a striped top and jeans that channel the Eighties alongside her equally retro-looking co-star Lana Condor, who plays fellow mutant Jubilee.

Singer posted the photo on Instagram earlier this week with the caption, “Fun second day with @sophie_789 @lanacondor #JeanGrey #Jubilee #XMEN #XMenApocalypse”.

The Sansa Stark actress will be playing s young version of the Jean Grey, who has telepathic and telekinetic powers. The part was portrayed by Famke Jassen in original films. Turner has said that she will be giving a twist to her character.

Meanwhile Condor’s role as Jubilee will see her perform some impressive acrobatics as the mutant with superhuman gymnastics skills.

Turner and Condor are not the only new faces to be joining the franchise. Tye Sheridan will be taking on the role of Nightcrawler while Alexandra Shipp will be a young Storm, first played by Halle Berry.
