Win tickets to the London premiere of 'Invictus' and the chance to meet Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Directed by four-time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood ( Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven) and releasing in UK cinemas on 5 February, Invictus tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (played by Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country.
Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa's underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup final (click on the image below to watch the trailer).
To celebrate the film that critics around the globe are calling "inspiring", "sincere" and "a remarkable picture", we're offering one lucky winner and a friend a once in a life time opportunity. Not only will you be given tickets to attend the UK premiere of Invictus on Sunday 31 January, but you'll enjoy a group meet and greet with the stars of the film: Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon live on the red carpet.
