From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Matt Damon became James Corden’s latest victim guest on the Late Late Show last night, following Tom Hanks and Arnold Schwarzenegger in acting out his biggest films in under eight minutes.

The Oscar winner is busy promoting new movie The Martian, but took time out from his busy schedule to play a spot of "Role Call" with the British host.

From Good Will Hunting and The Bourne Identity to Saving Private Ryan and The Departed, Damon took viewers on a whirlwind tour of his most memorable screen moments, helped by the ever ridiculous Corden (he looks like George Clooney, apparently).

The Ocean movies were particularly great - “Let’s go rob a casino! Let’s rob a mansion on Lake Como! Let’s rob more casinos!” - while the shrimp outfits from Happy Feet 2 left Damon less than impressed.

The live skit ended with The Martian because after all, that’s why Damon was there, and saw Corden appear in a masked alien get-up. “I haven’t seen the movie yet, The Martian doesn’t come out until Friday,” he said, before Damon reminded us that it’s due in cinemas on Friday.

UK fans are in luck, however, as the Ridley Scott film reaches screens here today.
