True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga is in discussions to direct an adaptation of non-fiction book Shockwave: Countdown to Hiroshima, according to Deadline, with the screenplay coming from Drive writer Hossein Amini.

Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan, Eric Bevan, Eric Fellner and Liza Chasin will produce the movie, which is still a long way off casting.
Fukunaga is currently working on Maniac, a Netflix series starring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone based on a Norwegian dark comedy series of the same name centring on the dream-fantasies of a man locked up in a mental institution.
