From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

*WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE AHEAD*

The LEGO Batman Movie shares one major facet with its predecessor, 2014's The LEGO Movie: the love of cameos. Many, many cameos.

Warner Bros. has so far done a great job on keeping the lid on exactly who would be making an appearance, and which litany of famous faces would make up the film's vocal cast.

A few had already been revealed: Will Arnett returns as Batman, joined here by Michael Cera as Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon/ Batgirl, Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Mariah Carey as Gotham's Mayor, and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face.

The film inevitably, however, features many more of DC's classic villains: now revealed to include Conan O'Brien's The Riddler, Jason Mantzoukas' Scarecrow, Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, Doug Benson's Bane, Kate Micucci's Clayface, and Riki Lindhome's Poison Ivy. There's also the return of The LEGO Movie's Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as Superman and Green Lantern, alongside Adam Devine's The Flash.

But that's not where the cast list ends, far from it. The LEGO Batman Movie also falls in line with the toy brand's love of intellectual property mash-ups by featuring cameos from a host of classic movie villains: prominently featuring Eddie Izzard's Voldemort, Seth Green's King Kong, Jemaine Clement's Sauron, the Gremlins, and the Wicked Witch.

Ellie Kemper also voices a character called Phyllis, whose role comes into play during the film's climactic moments.

The LEGO Batman Movie hits cinemas 10 February.
