Your support helps us to tell the story

My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

The Three Little Pigs, man. They actually represent various political figures from the Enlightenment and the Big Bad Wolf is the oppression of respectable society.

That’s a fan theory probably being cooked up on the internet somewhere right now, given how increasingly driven we are to try and uncover hidden meanings to classic stories.

One surrounding Grease was particularly widely circulated last week - allow Sarah Michelle Gellar to explain (via Facebook):

‘Wait this has blown my mind- has anyone heard this theory about the movie #Grease At the end of the movie, Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson fly off in a red convertible as they wave goodbye to their friends on the solid ground below, leading to the conclusion that the flying car was the final result of Sandy’s fantasy. (As in she is dead)

During the song “Summer Nights,” Danny and Sandy recount how they first met and started a summer fling. The line, “I saved her life, she nearly drowned,” suggests that Sandy actually did drown and the whole movie is an elaborate musical fantasy due to the lack of oxygen getting to her brain. The flying red convertible also suggests that Sandy is happily being whisked away to heaven at the end of the movie. Wait what?!?!’

Turns out, it was all just in the mind of the Reddit user who first came up with the theory though.

Jim Jacobs, who wrote the original book and musical, told TMZ they must have been on acid, clarifying that Sandy was very much alive.

I blame J.K. Rowling for all this.
