The footage is one of two TV Spots revealed by Comic Book Resources, disclosing long-awaited titbits of information about the latest addition to the franchise.
The final edit of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is reportedly complete and has a running time of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
The picture was locked on the 3 November at midnight, according to Slash Film, however director JJ Abrams is still understood to be finalizing the film’s visual effects, sound effects and final scoring by composer John Williams.
Few details have been disclosed about the new film with the picture even missing awards season in an attempt to prevent spoilers from being leaked.
However, the released footage gives viewers a chance to see more of the new major characters including Daisy Ridley's Ray, John Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron.
The new TV Spot also shows off the action audiences can expect and loosely establishes the relationships between some of the key characters.
The film will star many famous names including Lupita Nyong’o and Andy Serkis and is due to hit cinema screens on 17 December.
Actors from the original trilogy including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will also be part of the new franchise.
