William and Harry’s recent Star Wars 8 set visit apparently included a cameo in the film itself, perhaps appropriately on the side of the Empire.

The pair make a brief appearance as Stormtroopers, if reports from the Daily Mail are to be believed.

It wouldn’t be that huge a surprise, given Daniel Craig played one in the last film, and by the sound of it the non-speaking parts weren’t too demanding acting-wise.

“The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set,” a source told the Mail. “What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to “get suited” and off they went to the wardrobe department.

“The Princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base. The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicia del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.”

What is probably of more interest to non-royalists is the potential spoiler about del Toro’s character.

Star Wars 8 is currently in production under Looper director Rian Johnson, with Poe Dameron actor Oscar Isaac saying it has the feel of “an independent film”.

The as-yet-untitled will open in cinemas December 2017.
