The cast of Spy Kids sent fans wild as they staged a virtual reunion from coronavirus lockdown over Instagram Live.

The actor Daryl Sabara had recently watched the film with his wife, singer Meghan Trainor, when the couple took to the livestream to discuss it with fans.

However, they were quickly joined on the call by Alexa PenaVega, who co-starred in the 2001 action-comedy.

Sabara and Penavega, who played siblings Carmen and Juni in the franchise, reminisced about their time on set together.

“Remember how we used to have the harness on for hours and we’d be like, ‘Can someone take it off?’ and then no one ever came?” Sabara recalled, leaving his fellow actor laughing.

He went on to show PenaVega that he still owns his costume from the franchise and has had it framed, giving further behind-the-scene insights into the film by revealing that he is still in touch with his other cast members, including Emily Osment and Matt O’Leary.

Spy Kids featured an all-star cast of Antonio Banderas, Alan Cumming and Teri Hatcher and grossed nearly $150 million in cinemas worldwide, spawning three movie sequels.
