The first official look at Tom Holland’s third standalone Spider-Man film was released on Tuesday (24 August), teasing a showdown between Peter Parker and several non-MCU villains from previous Spider-Man films.
As expected, Alfred Molina shows up as Doctor Octopus (confirming Tobey Maguire’s MCU arrival?), with Jamie Foxx’s appearance as Electro also teased.
However, it was the appearance of a pumpkin bomb, the weapon owned by Green Goblin, that has comic book fans most excited.
Until now, it was not known whether Willem Dafoe, who played the villain in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002) opposite Tobey Maguire, would be in the film.
However, thanks to the inclusion of Norman Osborne’s weapon, as well as his character’s laugh, an appearance is all but confirmed.
