A source told US insider site Variety that LaBeouf was not fired by the agency, but made the decision to take a break from acting, and he is currently living at an inpatient facility where he has been receiving treatment for over five weeks.
The Independent has contacted CAA for comment.
The news follows a lawsuit filed in December by his ex-girlfriend, the musician FKA twigs, who accused LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.
In response to the claims, LaBeouf admitted to his alcoholism and aggression, stating: “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behaviour made them feel. I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalisations."

He added: "I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
The actor’s attorney, Shawn Holley, told Variety in December: “Shia needs help and he knows that. We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needs.”
