Shaun the Sheep, who was voted the best BBC children’s TV character of all time in a Radio Times poll, will be seen in a starring role on the silver screen early next year.
The teaser footage shows Shaun seeking “pastures new” as the “small sheep” decides to take the day off in search of some fun.
But when his actions have unforeseen results, he must unite with Bitzer and the flock to rescue The Farmer after he is taken away to the "Big City".
From the creators of Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run, the Aardman and StudioCanal production features characters including The Farmer and Bitzer and the flock.
Fans can also expect to be introduced to two new faces, including Trumper the animal warden and inner city orphan dog Slip.
The official Wallace & Gromit brand describes Shaun as having a colourful personality: “What he lacks in size, he makes up in character: curious, brave and an all-round appetite on legs.
“Eats anything, anywhere. Fleeced but not stirred.”
His popularity in the film won him a host of fans, leading to his own show which was initially broadcast on CBBC.
He has since featured in 130 episodes and has appeared in countless DVDs.
Shaun the Sheep Movie will hit UK cinemas on 6 February 2015.
