From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Three high-profile films expected to do big business in 2017 have had their release dates pushed back for varying reasons.

First up is Baby Driver, the latest from Edgar Wright which stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jamie Foxx and Jon Ham. Originally due to be released on 17 March, the comedy-crime film will now be released 11 August so as to avoid Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast which is expected to following in the same footsteps as this year's successful reimagining of The Jungle Book.

This date change will also see its release arrive one week after Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant which will see Michael Fassbender play not one but two robots.

Long-gestating Stephen King adaptation The Dark Tower is also getting pushed back to the summer. Reportedly, there's a worry that the film's special effects load won't be ready in time due to the film's modest budget compared with its Marvel competitors.

An incomplete trailer for the film, which stars Idris Elba as Roland Deschain AKA The Gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey as the malevolent Man In Black, was released last month. The film, originally slated for a February 2017 release date, will now arrive in cinemas 28 July.

This was the date formerly held by Sony's big-budget Jumanji continuation - headed up by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan - but that'll now be getting a Christmas release of 22 December.

In case you were wondering, The Equalizer 2 - Denzel Washington's first ever sequel - will be released two weeks earlier following its move from 29 September to 14 September.
