From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. One Direction have announced the release dates for their new concert film Where We Are.

The band confirmed news of the film’s release in a video, telling fans it will be out in cinemas on 11 and 12 October, followed by a DVD release on 1 December.

Where We Are: The Concert Film follows on from the band’s documentary film This Is Us last year, directed by Super Size Me’s Morgan Spurlock.

The Where We Are concert film will instead be a cinema broadcast of their global tour for fans that were unable to get tickets to see them live.

The film will feature One Direction performing their biggest pop hits on stage, as well as a 15 minute interview cut with exclusive behind the scenes footage.

One Direction achieved phenomenal overnight success after coming third on The X Factor 2010 after being hand-picked by Simon Cowell during the audition process.

This Is Us, which follows the boy band on their 2013 worldwide tour, is the fourth highest-grossing concert movie ever, making $28.9m (£48.6m) at the global box office.

The film became the fastest-selling music DVD in UK history, shifting 270,000 copies in its first three days of release.

Tickets for Where We Are: The Concert Film will go on sale from 28 July.
