Jake Szymanski, from Funny or Die, will direct the comedy, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Also joining Szymanski is Ben Stiller, who will produce alongside Nicky Weinstock, Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Kyle Newacheck.
The film is as ridiculous sounding as one might expect, with the logline reading: “When a teenager accidently cuts off his penis during a camping trip, he and his friends rush to save the appendage before it’s too late.”
The release date of the film has not yet been revealed, but comes hot on the heels of The Emoji Movie.
The full-length animation, due later this month, stars James Corden, Silicon Valley actor TJ Miller, Broad City star Ilana Glazer, American Pie actress Jennifer Coolidge, and Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph. But most importantly, Patrick Stewart will star as the poo emoji.
Directed by Kung Fu Panda’s Tony Leondis, the film will be released on 28 July, and chronicles the “secret lives of emojis” trapped in a smartphone.
