MTV Movie Awards 2016 winners' list in full: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Deadpool and Pitch Perfect 2 win big

Star Wars: The Force Awakens won big at the MTV Movie Awards, taking home three prizes including Movie of the Year.

The film’s lead star Daisy Ridley also took home Breakthrough Performance, while Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren won Best Villain.

Coming in a close second were Deadpool and Pitch Perfect 2, both taking home two awards. Deadpool won Best Battle, between Ajax and the Merc with a Mouth, while Ryan Reynolds scooped Best Comedic Performance. Pitch Perfect took home Ensemble Cast and Best Kiss between Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine.

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio finished off his winning spree with the Best Male Performance award for his role in The Revenant, while the prize's female counterpart went to Charlize Theron for Mad Max: Fury Road.

At the awards ceremony, a number of new trailers and clips were released, including Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad and Fantastic Beasts.
