From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Marvel has released a new trailer for upcoming summer blockbuster Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd as the famous miniature superhero.

Rudd plays master thief Scott Lang, who must help protect the Ant-Man technology that enables him to shrink in size while increasing in strength, created by his mentor Dr. Hank Pym. Faced with huge obstacles, the pair must pull off an ambitious heist and save the world from disaster.

“Imagine a soldier the size of an insect, the ultimate secret weapon,” the voiceover begins, before Pym is seen persuading Lang to take a “shot at redemption” and join him on his mission.

Fans get to see plenty more of the awesome red and black Ant-Man suit, including the flashy buttons that control his powers. Then there’s the “kind of cute” real ants, too, who become Lang’s “greatest allies”.

Another highlight comes when Hope Van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly, “shows Lang how to punch” in her own ‘unique’ way, before chaos erupts and it’s all explosions and dramatic music.

Rudd and Lilly are joined in the cast by Michael Douglas as Pym, Corey Stoll as Darren ‘Yellowjacket’ Cross, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Pena as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip ‘Ti’ Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale and Jordi Molla as Castillo.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, Ant-Man reaches UK cinemas on 17 July 2015.
