A new teaser for Disney‘s Lion King remake features Beyoncé and Donald Glover duetting on “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”.
The newly unveiled TV spot opens with both artists – who voice Nala and Simba respectively – singing the famous song’s chorus a capella.
They then continue through the tune’s third verse, which goes: “The peace the evening brings / The world for once in perfect harmony / With all its living things.”
Meanwhile, GCI images of some of the film’s characters, including Rafiki (voiced by John Kani), Mufasa (James Earl Jones), a young Simba (JD McCrary), Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) and Timon (Billy Eichner).
The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, is scheduled for release on 19 July, 2019 in the UK and in the US.
While Disney has put out several live-action remakes of some of its best-known films (including Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo and Aladdin), this film uses realistic computer-generated images to bring the animals to life.
The star-studded voice cast also includes John Oliver as Zazu and Amy Sedaris, who is set to play a yet-unnamed elephant shrew according to Variety.
Other upcoming Disney remakes include Lady and the Tramp, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (part of Disney’s retelling of Sleeping Beauty), and Mulan.
