'The film takes place on Mars.'

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A forgettable TV interview turned into one to treasure for Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, who were in hysterics when it became clear that the news anchor interviewing about their new film hadn't actually seen it.
The KWGN host kept the discussion of The Skeleton Twins pretty vague as he interviewed them live, but if that wasn't a sign that he was lying about having seen it, this exchange made it very clear.
Parente: "Kristen, I am thinking, on this program, of doing the news completely full-frontal, completely nude. Do you recommend that? Do you have advice for going nude?"
Wiig, confused: "Um, do I have advice for going nude?"
P: "You do it in the film!"
W: "Not this movie. That's a different movie."
The pair then burst into laughter as Parente cringes at his mistake, with Hader joking: "I'm nude in this movie, and I'm upside down the whole film. It takes place on Mars."
Pushing the host on it, he asks: "Did you see this film? Chris. Chriiiiiis."
It's been a bad week for TV news stations, with KTVA's Charlo Greene quitting live on-air in sensational fashion and News 12 The Bronx's Matt Pieper going on a sweary anti-benefits rant without realising he was still on air.
