Sky TV subscribers planning to watch or record the broadcast premiere of Zack Snyder’s Justice League were left bemused this morning by a last-minute schedule change.

Instead of the highly anticipated superhero re-release, they were instead treated to an airing of the 2005 Sarah Jessica Parker romcom The Family Stone.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League, an extensive four-hour re-edit of the 2017 DC superhero film, was scheduled to air on the Sky Premiere channel at 7am this morning.

However, it was substituted without warning, with the Christmas-set comedy The Family Stone airing in its stead.

Zack Snyder’s Justice (referred to colloquially as the “Snyder Cut”) is still available to watch on demand, however, on Sky or streaming service Now.

Fans expressed their bemusement and frustration with the scheduling change on social media, with one viewer describing it as “epic trolling”.

“What’s going on with #SnydersCut?” wrote another. “Set to record from 7am and all I’ve got is The Family Stone. I knew it was a different take but SJP ain’t no Wonder Woman.”

“Set my Sky box to record it today at 7am and Sky trolled me by putting on The Family Stone instead,” wrote one viewer. “Someone at Sky obviously has a wicked sense of humour.”

“Wow, #SnyderCut sounds a LOT different from the original, according to @SkyCinemaUK,” joked one Twitter user, sharing a screenshot of the Family Stone plot synopsis, which appeared under the Justice League title.

“I wonder if Sarah Jessica Parker will have a lovely Christmas with her boyfriend’s family? Finally we get to see @ZackSnyder’s true vision!”

The film can be accessed on demand on Sky and Now in the UK, and on HBO Max in the US.
