From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The new film has been screened across the world over the past week - and it's been confirmed that there will be two post-credits scenes (don't worry - we won't spoil them here).
Spoilers are rife on the internet but all we'll say is that - similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - one sequence is dedicated to world-building while another sets up a future superheroes standalone film.
Feedback has flooded in following the film's screening with many settling on the fact the film is not a Suicide Squad-style disaster but fails to capitalise on the highs of Wonder Woman which saw director Patty Jenkins become the biggest-selling female director of all time.
Suicide Squad's post-credits scene teased Justice League showing Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) meeting with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) to acquire information on Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and the Flash (Ezra Miller).
Justice League has come under fire for a set photo showing new costumes worn by the Amazons, the female characters who originally appeared in Wonder Woman.
The film is released in cinemas this Friday (17 November).
