From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The first footage from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has been released in the form of a six-second teaser.

Co-screenwriter Colin Trevorrow - who has been succeeded as director by J.A. Bayona - unveiled the clip showing a baby dinosaur cuddling up to Chris Pratt's protagonist, Owen.

Returning alongside Pratt in the Jurassic World sequel are Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong who both starred in the 2015 blockbuster. The sequel sees the addition of Justice Smith, James Cromwell, Toby Jones and Jeff Goldblum who will reprise the role of beloved Jurassic Park character Ian Malcolm.

Director Bayona's previous credits include The Orphanage and The Impossible.

Upon its release, Jurassic World made more than $1.6bn to become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.

Teasing the sequel, Pratt said: "[Fallen Kingdom] is going to be a scarier version, a little bit darker, and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined.”

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released 22 June 2018.
