According to TMZ, the 21-year-old actor is at the centre of a legal case with Parviz Mohammady, who alleges that King merged into his lane and collided with him while driving in Los Angeles on 13 February.
According to legal docs obtained by the publication, Mohammady sustained damage to the right side of his car.
His attorney told TMZ that the man also suffered a tear in the shoulder that exacerbated a preexisting injury and left him needing surgery.
The pair allegedly exchanged information after the incident, although police were not called, the lawyer claims.
The Independent has contacted King’s representatives for comment.
King first rose to fame in 2010 family film Ramona and Beezus, going on to play the lead Elle Evans in Netflix’s 2018 romantic comedy The Kissing Booth and its 2020 sequel. She will also star in the third instalment, which is scheduled for release in 2021.
King was nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for her role opposite Patricia Arquette in Hulu’s The Act.
