From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Jennifer Garner has publicly thanked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for sharing a “joyful” video of their son Archie.

The actor shared an Instagram post praising the couple for the clip, which was published on Wednesday to support Save the Children and mark Archie’s first birthday.

Meghan can be seen in the video reading the book Duck! Rabbit! to her son in support of the Save with Stories initiatives, which aims to provide “fun and education” to children and their parents during the coronavirus pandemic.

Garner was one of the people who helped launch the movement in March.

“Dear Meghan and Harry, thank you for sharing your gorgeous son with the world and allowing us to join you in celebrating his first birthday,” she wrote on Instagram.

She said Meghan and Harry’s participation left her and others “humbled and grateful”.

“More than anything – watching you lovingly talk through the pictures while your clever Archie turns the pages – lifts all of us up and reminds us that what may seem like a duck just might turn out to be a rabbit,” she added.

“Thank you for this joyful and meaningful shift in perspective.”

Duck! Rabbit! was reportedly gifted to Archie by Oprah Winfrey.

Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, Jamie Lee Curtis, and many more have shared videos of themselves reading children's books on camera to support Save With Stories.
