Jared Leto has confessed that his Oscar has “magically disappeared”, and that he hasn’t seen it in three years.

The Suicide Squad star won his Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2014 for Dallas Buyers Club, and told James Corden on The Late Late Show that he has no idea where it’s gone.

“I found out that it’s been missing for like three years, and I didn’t know that,” Leto said. “I don’t think anyone wanted to tell me.”

Leto realised his Oscar had vanished when he moved house in LA.

“When we moved, it somehow magically disappeared,” he continued. “Everyone’s searched for it high and low. I hope it’s in good hands, wherever it is. We haven’t seen it for quite some time.”

When Corden asked whether someone may have stolen it, Leto replied: “I think it’s a good possibility. It’s not the sort of thing someone accidentally throws in the trash.”

Leto also explained that he was slightly carefree with the award on the night that he won it, and that it was left “beat up and scratched” after being handled by numerous people at different Oscar parties.

Leto recently revealed that he was late to learning about the pandemic as he was away at a silent meditation retreat.

The actor and musician next stars as a serial killer in the Denzel Washington thriller The Little Things, and as an ancient vampire in the Marvel film Morbius.
