If news that Clueless is going to be made into a musical wasn’t enough, one of the most famous movie franchises of all time is heading to Broadway.

Merry Saltzman, daughter of the James Bond producer Harry Saltzman, has confirmed that she has secured the rights to develop a musical based on 007.

The show, titled James Bond: The Musical, will have an original storyline and will include several well-known Bond villains as well as some fresh faces.

Saltzman told Playbill.com that the musical will also include a new Bond girl, with the show set to open its doors to the public in late 2017 or early 2018.

She added that a venue has yet to be confirmed, but will either open on Broadway or in Las Vegas. Further details about the show or information about casting have yet to be announced.

James Bond is one of the longest running film series in history, taking a combined $6,000 million at the box office since first movie Dr No in 1962.

Based on Ian Fleming’s 14 novels published from 1953 to 1966, seven actors have portrayed the suave spy on the big screen.

The 24th film in the series, Spectre, is due to be released this autumn, starring Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux as a new Bond girl.

Anthony Horowitz recently re-introduced Bond girl Pussy Galore in the latest novel in the James Bond canon, Trigger Mortis.
