From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The 25th film in the franchise will arrive in US cinemas on 8 November 2019, with an earlier release in the UK and the rest of the world. There is currently no word as to whether Daniel Craig will continue in his role as 007.
However, recent reports claimed that his part has been “secured” and he has changed his mind after stating he would “rather slash his wrists” than play the character again.
Producer Barbara Broccoli is also reportedly “determined” to bring back Adele to record a theme tune for the new film, after singing the lead track on Skyfall.
“Skyfall” was the first 007 theme to win a Grammy and a Golden Globe award. The film was the most profitable in the franchise to date.
MGM and Eon Productions said that additional details regarding the new film’s distribution, including international release dates and the film’s cast and director, will be announced at a later date.
Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan recently admitted he had been in talks with Bond producers. He is one of the most popular choices, thanks to his work on the likes of Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy.
“I’ve spoken to the [Bond] producers over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out,” he told Playboy.
“You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention, it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”
The new film does not have a formal title yet. It will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, the duo who handled the scripts for Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
