Your support makes all the difference.In Marvel comics, the names Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor have all been used by numerous different characters.
For instance, Tony Stark recently handed Iron Man mantle to the 15-year-old Riri Williams, while the title of Captain America name was briefly held by The Winter Soldier, AKA Bucky Barnes.
It should come as no surprise, then, that Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige is open to the idea of other actors playing these iconic characters.
“These characters have been around for 50-plus years,” he told Postmedia Network, “and have been relatively ageless. Sometimes there are alternate stories where the character is younger than they usually are, or older, but they usually maintain a certain age.
“I think most of these characters that are iconic, like (James) Bond, like Batman, like Spider-Man, like Iron Man, someday will be portrayed by different actors. The good news right now is I don’t have to think about that for a long time.”
For the meantime, though, we can expect the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth to continue as their respected superheroes. Feige said: “We have story-lines for this cast for many years to come.”
Marvel’s Cinematic Universe stepped into Phase 3 earlier this year with the release of Captain America: Civil War, continued by the recent Benedict Cumberbatch starring Doctor Strange. The post-credits scene for that film featured a certain cameo.
